Its good idea, and best possible option to accommodate Yuvraj.
It would be criminal to leave out Yuvraj from the XI,with the kind of form he is in,he should be a natural choice and will certainly lift the morale of the side and send some strong signals to the Aussie Bowlers.
Since Dravid bats at No.3, and most of times comes to the crease in the 2nd or 3rd over at the loss of a wicket, he can open.He has opened in the past.
Yes,its going to be bit hard on him,because he is not in best of form and its tough task facing Bret Lee and Company.But his best innings has always been away from home and he is kind of player ready to sacrifice for the team's cause.
The playing XI for first test should be :
Jaffer,Dravid,Laxman,Sachin,Ganguly,Yuvraj,Dhoni,Kumble,Zaheer,RP Singh,VRV Singh/Harbajan singh.

I strongly feel that he defenitely deserves a place in the playing 11. Opening with Jaffer and Dravid is a good idea as normally Dravid comes to bat after couple of overs due to early fall of first wicket. Hence he is a competent plahyer to open.

Yuvraj is a good player so it is a good decision.
Dravid should open with Jaffer. Both test-match experts can take india for the winnig side. And a good start is half done!

Tough call for the selectors. I think, barring an injury to one of the batsmen, Yuvraj won't make the playing eleven. You have to give Karthik more time. Dravid is not a specialist opener.

They Should Yuvraj Came Into bangalore and scored 169, doesnt that convince them. Jaffer and dravid should open with gautam gambhir 3rd

Im a girl and im answering! If anyone should go, it's Sreesanth! That boy drives me freaking metal! All his antics on field is really letting the Indian team down. Keep Dhoni, like him. Tendulkar is my favourite, and Dravid should stay.
