I think people are missing your point...the '72 Dolphins IN THEIR PRIME PLAYING DAYS, (not as old men now, people) vs. the Pats of today...

I think it would be fun to see this time machine you have built... or is this just some magical fantasy?
If they played today the Pats would win because the '72 Dolphins are now old and brittle.
If they played in '72 it would be a forfeit because most of the Patriots team would not be born yet.

It would be an absolute BLOW OUT. The Pats would destroy them. In 1972, the average Offensive line man was under 250. In 2007 the average Defensive line man is bigger than that and runs like full backs did then. The linebackers of today are faster than the wide receivers were back then. Even if you asked this question about the 85 Bears, the answer would be the same. They'd stand a LITTLE more of a chance, but it wouldn't even be close.

The Pats would kill the Dolphins. The players are much bigger, stronger and faster than they were in '72.

the Dolphins would get smoked. think about it. their MLB weighed 220 pounds. Smaller than Maroney. Their biggest Offensive lineman was 265. Most of them didn't lift weights. And do you think they could match anyone's speed?
this would be no contest. In fact I honestly wonder if they could beat today's Dolphins. No joke.
