the difference between conservatives running on fear/terrorism and liberals running on fear (Bush taking away civil liberties, etc) is that the conservatives are SUGGESTING things to be scared of, while the liberals are OUTLINING things that are actually happening.

Republicans run on fear because they can't run on what they really stand for -- privatizing America.

Good question. I have an equally good answer. Its a political tactic tried and true that goes way back. Obviously they cant run on, say, the economy because they would never win. So they have to get people riled up about things like, the terrorist are coming, dems want to take away your guns, rewrite your Bible and ship your job overseas...all that BS and we republicans wont let it happen if you elect us. Oh and did we mention about the terrorist?

Of course not. Or one argument you agree with. The liberals never ever run on politics of fear. Never have they used the fear card of Bush taking away our civil liberties, or big business exploiting oil prices or the rich elite middle class taking away welfare. It flows both ways. The politics of fear works, and that is why it is used effectively by both poltitcal parties.

Anytime you generalize by including the word "always", you're wide open factual examples that negate your argument. Plus, if you don't provide quotes and examples, your argument is very weak and easily refuted.
As you can guess, I don't agree with your premise! lol
