How do I use Gimp?

I've read tutorials, but maybe if I have someone explain it, it will be better. I need to know how to make cooler backgrounds, because right now - i have no experience even after i practice.

Well, I hate to send you back to the tutorials but there are many fine Gimp tutorials online - far better than what you'll get from someone typing into Yahoo! Answers.

look up photoshop tutorials.. its pretty much the same..
