Go to Game Stop's website and look up RPGs. Then find one you think you might like and look at the review on Game Informer.
Personally, I like Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Warrior/Quest series.

All of the Final Fantasy games, Blue Dragon, Pokemon Games, Lost Oddesy(comes out May 2008), or Eternal Sonata(only for girls and homos)
