If laptop is NEW contact the seller and complain.
If they are not helpful, contact Microsoft for help via www.microsoft.com/piracy

IF you have been sold a dodgy copy, they are SOMETIMES helpful as they have a chance to track down the pirates (again)

you sure its a new computer bought in a reliable store?

chances r, that code is probably been used, or have u changed hardware? because vista can detect the changes of hardware, which makes the code not work, since it only allows 1 code per computer..

best thing to do is contact microsoft to reset the code..

goodluck =)
