Let's assume cell D1 on sheet 1 contains the number 123. In cell D1 of sheet 2, enter this formula: =Sheet1!D1

Cell D1 on sheet 2 will now display 123.

(You can copy this formula, placing it in other cells in column D, to make the data from column D of sheet 1 appear in column D of sheet 2)

The formula =Sheet1!D1 has these parts:
= identifies it as a formula
Sheet1 is the name of an Excel worksheet
! is a separator (required) between a worksheet name and a cell name
D1 is a cell name (also called 'reference')

Excel I presume.
You can use a Filter.
You can link the two sheets with a Copy and Paste Special, Paste link. This uses more memory.

This formula did not work for me in Excel 2010. Do I use VLOOKUP? and if so, what do I include after it and what symbols do I use?
