Yes, I had a bad staph infection that almost killed me The worst time was when I was kidnapped and beaten for almost 10 hours. I didn't know if I was going to be killed or not. I'd rather be on the verge of death from an injury or illness than not know if I'm gonna be killed right then and there. Very scary thing. It was 7 years ago so I can actually talk about it now but I'll never forget how it felt.

Three of us friends used to ride our dirt bikes up and down beside some railroad tracks way out in the country, miles from nowhere. This was back in the 70's. We knew trains came by every hour or two, and we had never crossed this one bridge because it was too long and narrow, nothing to hold onto, and about a 180-foot drop to a creek.
One buddy said he had heard about some caves over on the other side. We had seen a train zoom by awhile ago, but we couldn't agree how long it had been. Our curiosity and need for adventure won out, and we began our precarious crossing.
Not even a third of the way across, and we were struggling with our footing. Each step was a task. I remember my friend wanting to hold on to me to help and I screamed "No way!" I knew better than to be thrown off-balance for one second at that height.
So there's all three of us high up on that trestle, perfect sunny afternoon, our mothers having no idea where we were, but we were exploring unknown territory and excited and laughing alot, albeit nervously.
And -- there was a stiff warm breeze blowing that day, in the wrong direction. Had either of us ever stopped to look up for a moment instead of being so focused on each step, we would have made a quick realization and warned the others.
There it was! It was already halfway down the straight-stretch and MOVING. I'll never forget the heat rising up off the tracks as I saw the engine in the distance -- and growing larger, fast!
I lurched forward, but my bud grabbed me and screamed, "NO!"
That look on his face was all it took. And to see him actually leap back, big steps, two-by-two, TOWARDS the direction of the train!! I followed, fast as my feet would go and instinct to survive would allow. THEN we heard the horns.....
I still remember the crunching of the rock as our tennisshoes landed back on land -- SAFE!!! I can still count-off the seconds in my mind until the train was right beside us on the track. I had dropped to my knees in the rock. There wasn't any time to do much else... I felt weak, like I was gonna throw-up.
Then I realised there were only two of us there! A hard rattling SHOCK is all I can say to describe the feeling. Where was my other friend?!
He had run to the other side, because he was way ahead of us two in the first place. He was the leader, the one who knew about the caves. He made it, and was waving from the other side. Relief, but it gave me nightmares for about six months.
And we never got around to exploring those caves.
Wonder if they're still there..........

Yeah, O.k I was sevn and was in a our apartment comlex's pool b cuz we were moving soon, anyway i decided to go into 4 and a half feet. ( I was only like 3"11) so I hung on to the edge, and all of a sudden I sliped and was under... I drowned for about 1 minute, then I took a huge breath while my head was up, and pushed myself onto the edge of the pool, climed out, and cried. my mom watched the whole thing in shock, there were also teenagers watching me drown, and doing nothing about it. That was probably the scariest moment in my life. Also, you should watch one of the final destination movies, then you'll know how death happens...

well i didnt but i know of someone close who did. He was walking to work from a bus stop and he had to cross the street, but when the walking light turned green he froze. For some reason he couldnt take a step; something told him not to move; Suddenly the next minute a car passes a red light, speeding like crazy. If he took just one step; the car would have hit him, and he could have died.

THIS IS REALLY TRUE -NOT KIDDING.
