Ok the 12 signs usually begin on the 19th,20th,21st,22nd, and the 23rd. If you are in any range of those dates you are consitered on the cusp and have traits of both signs.
Like my mom. Her birthday is June 23. Gemini ends on June 20 and Cancer begins on June 21. She is on the cusp of Cancer and Gemini.

Yes, it should work if Leo is a male and the female is Cancer ....provided neither is born during the "cusp".
If , on the other hand , the male is a Cancer and the female who is a Leo, is born during the cusp period , the relationship has to be very good one.

WELL... I'm a leo... I "knew" a cancer once... it didn't work out... Idk if that helps you, but I would say you'd have to try a bit harder than normal in a relationship with a leo. We are a difficult breed.
