I usually do but people always have their reasons for choosing others. Sometimes even if I answer 40 or 50 questions from the same person I'll only get picked for best answer on one of them. That could be for any number of reasons.

Well we are in a free country and this is part of the game. Anyone is free to make their own decision and not bound to too many rules. Lots of people just do what is fastest, so they probably just did not want to scroll back up to you... I will think about what you said though. If someone gives the same answer I will consider giving whoever gave the best answer first the points. I had not really thought about it before.

That's happened to me a few times, mainly when the other answerer is female
Maybe the askers think they have a chance with someone of the other sex if they give then BAs
Wouldn't have minded too much but the other answer looked like a direct copy of mine, down to the correction of punctuation from the original source

That happened to me concerning a movie title the person was looking for.I was the first to answer and I also had it correct. Then about six people answered wrong. Then another person answered correctly with less information then I gave. They chose them as Best Answer. I'm thinking that person was either a fan of theirs or an alias of theirs. There are people who have more than one avatar and come on here answering their own questions, then select those answers as Best Answer in an effort to rack up points quickly.

OMG whats worse is when you had a waaaay better answer than all the other people!
I'm a vet tech and I answer a lot of questions under pets, and I can give answers of some intelligence, with technical terms and real medical knowledge, and then someone else will give a two word answer and win best answer! That cheeses me off like you wouldn't believe!

It was probably a friend of that person that picked that person. YOU should have done it yourself. After 3 hours YOU can pick the correct answer. 3 hours is the time limit Yahoo sets up before YOU can decide.

Maybe the people who voted for the second person looked at their details.
The first person probably answered less questions, had less points or a lower percentage of best answers...

Yeah I see that I think people don't care what the answers are they are just going to random questions and voting for the first one they see or. Some people get on here just to screw up peoples score. It is stupid and competitive. And I think that you shouldn't be judged on answers if you are just trying to help.

I too do that if all answers are almost the same. I give 10 points to the one who is at a lower level, say level 1 or 2. Just to brighten up his/her day.

It's not a matter of "who's answer was first?," but "who's answer is best?"
If they're both the same, then they probably picked the other person because they were a contact.
