I have to go to walmart with a newborn. The problem is that I have the wrong car seat for the basket. The carseat that is adhered for the basket is at my house, (im in apartment at moment) my dad was picking things up at my house when mom told him to come to the hospital. He rushed over (2 1/2 drive) and forgot some of my things. I have a normal toddler/infant seat. What do I do?

Do you have a baby carrier? That would be your best bet. You might even be able to pick one up at Walmart and pay for it so you can use it to do your shopping. (Something like the Snugli). They aren't too expensive and it's nice to have if you don't already have one.

You can usually position most car seats across the top of the cart where the kid seat is. It may recline a bit but you should be able to get it to lock in. If not, just set the whole car seat right in the cart. Or if you aren't going to be in long and your not going alone then just carry the baby.

I have a Graco car seat (part of a travel system) and it sits quite securely on the top part of most grocery carts. The only problem I have is that I am short and can't see over it LOL.

Are you going shopping with someone? If so, just carry the baby and let the other person push the cart. Tiny babies are *much* better off in someone's arms or in a sling. Car seats should stay in the car.

We don't use the carseat in the store- we always used a sling since they were more content there. Carry your baby or wear them.

What will your baby use on the drive to Walmart?

if you are not getting a lot of things you can put the car seat in the cart. i had to do this before because my seat is not made for the basket and i forgot the stroller.

Well if you have a thick blanket you could lay it down in the seat of the buggy and put the newborn in there just keep a good eye on the lil one. don't forget to cover the baby up so he/she doesn't get cold or too many germs. Congrats and Happy Holidays.

Ask the store to hook you up with a shopping car that has the attached infant bucket. Most stores carry them and you should be ablet o get someone to bring you one at the store. If not, I suggest a baby carrier.
