why is my hornwort dying?

Question

I have started a 10 gal planted tank(first time grower) I have amazon sword which is doing very well and can almost be seen growing, I also have red wendti, and microsword. My nitrites are 0 nitrates are at 40ppm and I have 510lumens of light on for 12hrs temperature 74degress I have a make shift co2 infuser made with a gatorade bottle and an air stone,no defuser just small bubbles.

If you just put it in, it might be decaying, as most of the plants do when you first get them, but you should see new leaves pretty soon though
