I would start with some of his earlier books to see if you even like him.

Slaughterhouse Five is definitely the place to start--it is probably his best book. Welcome to the Monkey House is a good collection of short stories. I would go to Cat's Cradle after that.
I was about 14 when I started with Vonnegut, too. You're in for a treat. You might also check out his student, admirer, and friend John Irving.

When I was in college, I discovered Vonnegut, and read all of his books. I liked all of them, and I don't think it matters which order you read them in. Just dive into it. But I would suggest you read Slaughterhouse 5 soon. It was an important book about the horrors of the fire-bombing of Dresden during World War 2, an experience which Vonnegut survived. I don't think you will ever forget it.

What helps me when delving in to an unknown, but potentially interesting author is, I will check out their short story collection, if they have one.......Vonnegut does, It's called 'Welcome to the Monkey House'
I feel by reading the authors short pieces you get a good feel of what they are about, and if you enjoy his shorts, well, his novels will blow you away!

Start anywhere, you'll love it. While your at it try reading Terry Pratchett's Disc World series. Start with The Color of Magic and go anywhere from there.
