These days it is acceptable to wear almost anything. It is the thought that counts. However, I still believe in the old tried and true method of showing respect by wearing clothing I would not be embarrassed to wear to church with my mother! You do not have to wear black. That is usually something those very close to the deceased feel the need to do. Do not wear shorts, cropped tops, mini skirts, jeans, etc. A nice shirt/blouse, sweater/jacket, skirt/pants, is all that is required. Lighten up on the makeup and sparkles, but, other than that, I have seen all colours worn at many funerals. Some cultures prefer specific colours and if that is the case here, you could ask someone else attending for the proper information. A tie for boys is not an essential either. Sorry to hear of the loss of one you obviously care enough about to want to show the proper respect.

i've got self belief you may placed on something as long it is not a dress of a few thing attractive. donning black to funerals, in dissimilar areas, is passe. I be conscious that some people placed on denims a stunning blouse and jacket so as long as you're actually not being disrespectful placed on some thing that suits you and if happens to be dark it is fantastic too. I even have worn purple to funerals. it is likewise proper to think of of whom you're honoring on the funeral.

If you are going to the funeral of someone of your close family, you should wear something black. If the funeral is not of a close relative, a dark dress will be just fine. You are too young to appear all in black.

Well, it really depends on what kind of funeral it is. Some cultures wear certain colours and in other cultures, it doesn't matter.
Christians wear black
I believe Hindus wear white
I'm not sure about other cultures and/or religions.
I hope this helps.
