It was known, appropriately enough, as the Act of Supremacy. Parliament passed it in 1534, making the King "the only supreme head on earth of the Church in England."

what he said above me. he did this so that he could divorce his wife because the church wouldn't let him so ,angry, he made the church his own where he was in power and then that led to protestants and then to the pilgrims and puritans in massaechusetts
