I am in the CWA and I cant stand the fact they contribute MILLIONS to the DNC. My wife and I have thought about getting out, but I would be sorely chastized for this.

You're misrepresenting the facts and falling back on the myth of the "liberal media", the scape goat of so many conservatives.
Yes, CWA gives more to democrats but other organizations and companies, such as Goldman Sachs and AT&T, give primarily to republicans. The money actually spent by each party is about the same so there is no real advantage. It's interesting to note that the democrats have raised more money from individuals than have the republicans.

1) Members of CWA do not own or control news media organizations. Shareholders and senior management of those corporations do. Some members of CWA work for such organizations, but control what goes out over those distribution venues about as much as a computer programmer (also eligible for CWA) controls what type of software his corporation chooses to design and sell. For that matter a CWA member controls media content as much as any member of ILGWU controls what design and type of clothing their employer sells.

2) Most of the members of CWA work for common carrier distributors who have no control on content over their telecom systems at all. They're personal and business phone services mostly.

3) Most of the journalists you probably think are the most "biased" towards liberals are not likely to be members of CWA. Those on television are all very likely to be members of AFTRA and those in newspapers are very likely to be members of the Writer's Guild, but that's hardly going to determine what they report or comment on. All of the talking heads on Fox News regularly are eligible for AFTRA membership. Most of the regular editorialists of the WSJ are eligible for Writer's Guild membership. It's not dictating anything about their views.

For starters, get your facts correct. This contributor (CWA) is NOT the media, nor does it control what the media reports. This is merely a worker's union which happens to represent the segment of workers in the communications field.

Are you really dense enough to think that this union controls the content of reporting ?
