Yes. You must first discuss whatever it is that makes you not get on. Or you will be in the same situation again next Christmas. And they have to be willing to do the same, if they aren't quite up for it, it will not have lasting results.
It is a good thing to want to do though. It is good to know that not everyone likes holding grudges. If more people were like you the world would be a much better place. Look at the never-ending fighting in the middle east.
So good for you and good luck. :)

Bury the hatchet with someone you've never (or lately) got on very well with? It is always a good time to do it. They all say it for Christmas because this is what Christ came down to earth to remind people of... This is love! Forgiving and being friends with everybody... So, why don't you call or meet with the ones you hated or disliked? This is what I do from times to times and I hope a lot of people do it too, its so sweet, believe me...

Maybe it is the season of good will but it does not change people's characters. Their attitudes remain the same whatever time of year it is so it depends who it is and what they have done whether it's worth considering burying the hatchet or not.

Bury the hatchet yourself, but don't force them to bury the hatchet.
Once you bury the hatchet, it may take some time for them to come around. Give it time, be patient, and keep trying.

It's always a good thing to do.
Just remember ...
Choose a private moment to do this.
Just saying "I'm sorry, and I'd like us to get along" is not enough.
You have to apologize for any wrong doing on your part; in other words, you have to "own" your contribution to the rift, without qualification.
You have to thank them for whatever positive contribution they've made to your life, regardless of how hard it is to think of one, or how badly you might not want to admit it.
You can't expect forgiveness or have an ulterior motive; the goal is to forgive yourself, make good on it, and put it behind you. Say your piece, be sincere, and let the chips fall where they may.
I've seen some dire enemies become friends again by doing this.

Why wait till Christmas? If there is someone out there that you want to make amends with just do it. don't wait until Christmas because they may feel that it is not sincere. Make peace now. If the other person is not willing to meet you half way and take the "olive branch" at least this way you know that you have tried.

Being on civil terms with those who we don't necessarily like or work smoothly with is a useful talent at any time of the year. It's well-worth developing.
And if you can use Christmas as a sort-of "shoehorn" to work out a more smooth relationship with these folks, then definitely go for it.

Christmas is probably the best time to put things behind you cos it's generally a time of family & friends etc. Why not make a new start in time for the New Year?
