The other day I was craving brownie mix, all mixed up just not cooked! So I made some brownies and had just a couple spoonfulls of the uncooked? Anyone else crave something they shouldn't eat while pregnant?

The raw egg is why I shouldn't eat it, the mix I used only called for one egg and like I said I only had a couple of spoonfulls as the craving was driving me nuts!

I ate cake and cookie mix all through my pregnancy. Unless your eggs are old, from a poor store, or washed and then stored in a warm place they wont make you sick.
People used to get sick a lot on raw egg because back in the day (like up until the 60's) stores kept them at room temperature. Which would have been fine if they didnt wash the natural protective antimicrobial coating off of it before packaging and shipping.
Do you know ANYONE who has EVER gotten sick, more than just a belly ache, from eating cookie dough or cake mix?
I didnt think so.
Its not going to hurt you once in a while- just make sure you know where your eggs have been.

If you really can't stand the brownie mix then make it without the raw egg, try putting cream in it or just plain milk. Your craving sounds normal to me when my sister was pregnant she ate chalk ewwwww. Don't worry too much, but if your craving something inedible then you should talk to your doctor. If you are really worried about eating the brownie mix then try to compromise. Eat some icing or birthday cake/or chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream!
Good Luck!!!!!!!!

In the case of the brownie mix....just don't put the egg and then have your spoonfuls. Then add the egg and bake the brownies. I dont think one or two eggs is going to make a huge difference in the taste anyway.
It;s alright, us pregos get weird cravings now and again, and sometimes just try to get creative.
Best of Luck to You.

those kinds of cravings are fine and normal-----I craves baby aspirin when I was PG (didn't give in to it, mind you----) but it is when you crave dirt or laundry soap or non-food items that you need to bring it to the attention of your doctor, that is a syndrome known as PICA and it means you are deficient in something (maybe iron, I can't remember)
As for the brownie mix-----be careful of the raw eggs. Cook it and eat the brownies instead!!!!

Brownie mix sounds fine if it doesn't have the raw eggs. I have read where some women crave bleach and dirt...not that is wierd

My friend was a med-sec for an OB. She saw all sorts of weird cravings. One woman had a craving to eat baby mice. And she did! She brought a litter of them with her at the doctor's office and proceeded to dip them in salt and take a bite. Disgusting right? But apparently it didn't do her or the baby any harm. I am not saying you should try it too. Just ask the doctor for supplements to these strange cravings.

Yes! I craved durt! And ice! And snow! Among many other "normal" foods. I asked my dr about it and they said that when women crave things during pregnancy it actualy means that they have a nutrition deficiency of some sort. Depending what you are craving the DR can figure out wich vitimins you need. I recomend telling your DR what you are craving. Dont be shy its important to tell them everything. In my case, craving ice and snow and durt oh and clay plant pots! Were signs of low iron!! I was actualy very anemic.

Raw cookie dough. Oatmeal chocolate chip. Damn fundraisers for my daughters school. Never hurt my first so I don't think it will hurt this one. My mom and daughter eat raw cake dough all the time. Seems to be a craving that runs in my family. Lol. Strange I know.

You should probably try a substitute, like chocolate pudding or something. Cravings are awful during pregnancy. A friend of mine once ate 6 whole boxes of gummies. That's 12 packs to a box. She couldn't control herself. Another thing that is supposed to work: exercising.
