...do you think he would do it?

My wife has NOT asked me to do this! She wouldn't ask me to do that, either!! It's just a question! I'm trying to pick your brains, give you something to talk about, etc...

My boyfriend and I are at the point of drastic change or ending it for good. I asked him to eliminate more than half of his friends (the trouble makers). I will let you know how it turns out.

Definitely that is a question that many guys are being asked out there. The weak kind of guys that are being controlled by strong kind of wives, which I feel just so sorry about that.

And by the way, that is just one more question of what the guy needs to do, things doesn't end there, the wife constantly needs reasurance and it will eat the guy alive if that's what it takes and the wife still wont be satisfy.

The guy should leave the wife after hearing that question, without the need to find an answer and should be single or find a better partner. It's the guy's fault for the partner he has chosen and for being weak to allow that kind of questions come to his ears. A strong man doesn't have a wife like that, and the wife of a strong man doesn't even bother on asking that, she will be happy - very happy - for being with who she is and is not into that kind of "test" to see if the guy loves her.

Thats just WRONG!!!! Why would anyone ask a spouse to give up friends? Does she not trust you? If she has no trust she never had you anyway!!!!! That doesn't show love anyway. Losing friends shows insecurity on her part!!!!!

If you cheat on her when with these freinds, then I can see her point but you might want to start being a husband and spending time at home more often if thats how she feels.

IF your not doing anything and your just like having poker nights, then she needs to find something fun on the internet to occupy her time.

You may not be married much longer if your in bars with these friends, heck I'd just leave you and move on if thats the case. No one needs THAT! If your friends are all single and still looking for mates, your with the wrong kind of friends, talk to them and bring her with you, but don't make it a point to exclude her. Invite them to your house more often and BBQ and throw poker parties.

I wish he'd give up that ***** he calls mom ...

But yes he would. I already know it. He gave up his best friend Chris for me because Chris and I did not get along. Basically he was jealous that Marc was spending all his time talking to me and not being stupid with him and I won in the end... Not that it was a competition but Chris was really nasty towards me for no reason and told me all kinds of lies about how Marc felt about me ... Personally that's not the kind of person I want around either way and I gave up everything for Marc I figure he needed to at least make one sacrifice for me

A wife that truly loves you wouldn't ask you to do something like that. She should like your friends just as much as you do, and if she doesn't she should at least pretend to lol because your happiness should be just as important to her as hers is to you.

I don't know why anyone would ever ask their husband that...

it really sounds of more typical behavior for a man to ask his wife that....

but when you start trying to control people like that it only leads to resentment and relationship problems...best not to be in a relationship if one of the people is that way....

Why would anyone want yo have so much control on another person is beyond me ! Unless all your friends are crack heads, sex offenders or just bad news then she shouldn't ask!!! I don't care how much you are in love it's not healthy to not be able to have friends and family in your life .Why is she so insecure ?

I think we are way past that kind of point in our relationship where he would actually choose. I think he'd give me a big f*** you and not give up either of us.

Besides I would never do that, I love when he goes out with his friends, I love my alone time.

Wow, the above answers are so ...well thought out. I wouldn't ask simply for the reason I wouldn't want him around that often! I need some time too, ya know! ;)

MINE WOULD!!! BUT I WOULD NEVER ASK THAT OF HIM BECAUSE HE HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR ME. MY HUSBAND IS LOVING & CARING. HE MOVED AWAY FROM HIS HOMETOWN, AWAY FROM HIS MOM (79), HAS NO REAL FRIENDS IN THIS AREA, TO BE WITH ME. MY HOUSE WAS BIGGER & I HAD A GREAT JOB. TO ASK THAT OF AN INDIVIDUAL WOULD BE SELFISH. WHETHER YOUR FRIENDS ARE MALE OR FEMALE, YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE ON WHO IS BEST TO BE AROUND, NOT YOUR WIFE. JUST REMIND HER, IF I DO THIS, YOU MUST DO THE SAME THING. THAT WAY THE ONLY BEST FRIEND YOU BOTH WILL HAVE WILL BE EACH OTHER.
