I'm glad some people here can actually read but amazed at the number who apparently cannot

BTW to the thumpers.......I'm actually a theologian, a pagan one and I have devoted considerable thought to all religious beliefs including yours.

Don't know why some aren't getting what you're saying. Yeah, I have found that the harder one thumps the Bible, the more they're trying to hide. Swaggart-a-likes if you please.

People often use the bible and the corresponding religion to provide them with a sense of "belonging"... to something perceived as being "righteous" and "holy"... and to feel more connected to their families and communities... NOT so much because they've researched different religions and developed a strong belief about one or another... face it... most kids are born into their religion... so how could they have ever thought about it in comparison to other religions that other kids were born into who are taught to "revere" it just the same... and each one damns the other to hell... or anyone who doesn't belong to their particular "brand"... which includes homosexuals... I think the "hate" has a lot to do with jealousy.. here they are blindly following, where we are challenging what their parents have raised them to believe... simply by saying God loves us the way he made us...so if WE'RE right... then everything they've been taught to believe gets challenged... and of course who wants to deal with THAT!!?? ... it's much easier to blindly and ignorantly hate...

Some of the bible thumpers who come here to feed us their drivel may be closet gays themselves, but not all of them. Most them are just having a hard time with a particular ‘sin’ in their lives and feel shame and guilt as a result. By coming here and attacking gays they hope to gain God’s favor. “Look God, look how horrible THOSE people are, they are much worse than me!” It is a childish thing to do.

Probably almost all are closet cases. Straight men and women have better ways to use their time, like chasing the opposite sex. Since they don't have a stake in the issue, it wouldn't occur to them to make a point in this forum. So my guess is that an occasional visit from a straight person to hurl epithets is normal. But repeated visits from someone who calls himself/herself straight - just to be insulting - is deep-seated guilt.
And I think most of us know it - except them!

God knows how I ended up on the gay site. I suppose it has something to do with my last answer which involved the use of the word swaping.
I don't even know what is being asked but I'm guessing it has something to do with someone who for the time being is confused (sexualy orientation speaking).
My answer is don't do it, I am not religeous but Hell lies in that direction for yourself and society. Most people thses days are non- homophobic but the truth is that we straights still find it disgusting. You surely know this. Gays are promiscuous but by the time you are forty five you'll find yourself with nothing. If you're a girl get yourself a soft bloke, we aren't all loud and wife beating. If you're a bloke find yourself a girl who is not looking for a macho guy.

Well, some folks become obsessed with things within themselves that they would rather escape, but can't.
They suppress their natural inclinations and turn all their anger and frustration toward attacking anyone else who has the same impulses, instincts or inclinations.
This gives us TV Evangelists who raise $$$Millions by denouncing sex, and then get caught in bed with a prostitute or male hustler, as an example.

as much as I dislike to agree with bible thumpers and bashers alike.....this question really has no basis in fact. your point is very shallow. if one has had a "experience" with one of the same sex (which usually does happen in adolescence) does not relate to being on here at all. if you are trying to make an intelligent argument, please think it out more than you did this time

Do you really care what a bible bashing replier says about one indiscretion. Are you going to Hell only if you make it so..............These King James or otherwise quotations are just that, they are not "real" thoughts, just "real" quotes............Live and let live is far better as a quotation than many.

I think it's quite likely. Often the most homophobic people are those who are trying to suppress their sexuality.
If you look at the most vocal of the evangelical preachers against sin, homosexuality, immorality and prostitution (same goes for politicians too) then its often only a matter of time before they are exposed for having been doing *exactly* the kinds of things they've been most vehemently against.
