It certainly is something you have to stay on top of on a daily basis if your aim is to make it last.We have been married 55 yrs. and been to the mountain top and to the lowest point in the valleys so many times in those years. We are growing old together now and are very happy with each other & Christ. I look around me and we are truly blessed for hanging in there. We have 5 happily married children & 5 grand children.
Marriage is based on LOVE. There are times throughout your marriage when situations best be treated as a business undertaking.~~~~~~~~~~~~

Marriage is a social contract. Consider this- If you're legally married in a foreign country whose laws are not recognized in your country, one could argue that you're not married. This is one view.

Another is the matter of community property. This is very common and involves a type of contractual involvement with your spouse. It's commonly understood that what was yours before the marriage remains yours during and after the marriage. (Comingling is a separate issue, not often enforced.)

While the emotional aspect can't be overlooked, and is frequently the reason people enter into marriage, it's frequently excluded from day-to-day aspects of marriage and almost legally excluded in no-fault divorces.

In an ideal situation, both business and emotion are merged. In real-world situations, the separation becomes the tricky part.

Good luck with your essay.

Marriage has nothing to do with business. it has to do with Love.... not how much of a tax break you will get or not get with combined incomes. It has to do with the merger of two souls thinking and acting as one. not the merger of two bank accounts.
