Probably Motley Crue.
I was 9, and I caught the video for Same Old Situation by Motley Crue on Mtv. It was immediately followed by Give It Away, which was followed by Losing my religion by R.E.M. This was my first real exposure to any music other than country, and it fueled a love affair and obsession that will probably never die!! None of these three bands sound anything alike, but the combination of these three videos blew me away.

I always listened to rock here and there, but mostly what my parents played. But, the bad that really got me into rock was Creed. Now, especially with the internet, i listen to all sorts of rock. Alternative, like Taking Back Sunday; Metal, like Metallica;Metalcore, like the Devil Wears Prada; and so much more.
I still listen to a little rap now and then, though. Mostly old school gangsta rap, though.

Real rock, the Beatles! My first legit rock album I bought was Sgt Pepper. I did start out listening to the Monkees, I had a crush on Peter Tork. (I had and still have a crush on Paul McCartney)

Well i listened to Rock here and there [but I swayed towards pop-rock.. bleh], but never truly got into it until listened to Guns N' Roses.
After GNR i started getting into many different types of Rock, most of the music i listen to now is /very/ different from Guns N' Roses [Gothic rock, Deathrock, Punk rock.. etc] but they remain my favourite band.
