LMAO squidward! True! A deserving/ needy charity would benefit MUCH better than any dumb pet. This way, you're helping Many instead of just Fluffy. Even if you had no one who cared for you in life.

I completely understand why they do it, although it's sort of sad. Obviously, animals don't accumulate savings, go shopping or invest in treasury bonds. I think the main purpose of this is to be a symbolic middle finger to the survivors or potential heirs. Sort of a last laugh by the recently deceased to tell others that their self-worth is less than dogs. Other instances, you gotta figure they simply have no one else to leave the money to and don't have passionate feelings one way or the other where the money goes. Either scenario speaks volumes to a sad and lonely existence, further proof that money can't always buy happiness.

maybe their animals were the only thing that stuck with them during their life, so they would give the money to them.
maybe they'd rather do that than giving it to all the suckups they must have around them.
Seriously, I don't know.
They should at least consider giving the money for research or for public stuff such as libraries and schools.

Did you read about the recent incident where a woman left about 6 million to her dog? The dog has now received death threats!

Honestly, a handful of bequests to animal charites, and she could have helped millions of dogs.

I'm not rich, but I would do the same thing. I'm more of an animal lover than a people lover any day. People who aren't, are quick to not understand.
