The average published author (and obviously, as with everything, there will be plenty of exceptions) is able to produce a book in between 1 and 2 years, so your 12 - 13 months is almost perfect. Most novices don't spend long enough editing their work. You should spend *at least* as long editing as you do writing, whatever your editing style. Personally, when I'm writing, I write a chapter or so, edit that bit for voice, style and structure a little, then carry on. At the end of the entire piece, I then re-edit the whole thing in much more depth. Some people edit entirely as they go, some people in a massive stint or redrafting at the end - it doesn't really matter. As a rule of thumb, if it's only taking you a few months to write a novel, you're going too fast and it just won't be good enough. Yes, genius writers probably exist who can write a full length, brilliant novel in a month, but most people can't. Well done for taking to time to ensure something's good! Hope that helps.

No, not really. I think I'm a pretty honest person, usually I mean everything I say. With some people maybe a little too honest I guess. Not that that's a bad thing but hmmm I don't know, been working all day, tired rambling now! lol

No! No! Little Chic. To say things that you do not mean is to
L I E . The extension of "what you see is what you get" is:
"What I say is what I mean".
It may be easier to say things that one does not mean, but it is also deceptive and dishonest . In the long run say what you mean.

NEVER. Even though I get myself in to plenty of trouble, I have learned that being UP FRONT and honest about myself is way easier to explain than trying to come up with reasons to justify a lie.

I say what I mean
yet often i have to mask it, not to hurt anothers feelings
like a girl comes up and says how do i look,, well either way, if she is the bomb -till i got feelings in true friendship, I aint going there, if she looks messed up in some way, you gotta be carefull how you let her know or leave it alone
peace up David in Jesus care and amazing grace to everywhere

It may be easier, because sometimes the truth may hurt someone... But I really believe honesty is best. We have to face the music in this life , take it day by day.

I find it easier to say nothing. Knowing that not making a choice is in itself making a choice.

at this stage and game of life for me, i'm not going to say out loud what you don't need to hear, because that would only drag me to your level of ignorant stupidity and just keep the sh** stirring. besides, probably by the first couple of words out your mouth will let me know if i want to stick around for this dialect.
