Accouting: Total Revnue!! Need help!?

Question

Bills Company had a beginning balance of 200,000 and ending balance of 250,000 in retained earnings. Paid dividends of 30,000, issued dividends 20,000, and total expense was 35,000. What is Bills total revenue??

If Bills company "issued" or declared $20,000 in dividends then his total change in RE is $70000(Ending Balance in RE + Dividends declared - Beginning Balance in RE=NI. $70,000 is net income so just add back expenses of $35000 to get total revenue of $105000. Dividends only affect RE in the year they are declared, also they have no affect on Net Income.
