Either use a trash bin with a lid or use a small trash can that is so small that you have to empty it out daily.
In my kids' rooms I use trash bins that are of a size that regular grocery bags fit into. I put several grocery bags in as liners at a time so it's really easy to just pull one filled bag out at a time, while immediately having a fresh trash bag ready for the next day.
Saves you time, money, and the environment as well.

Keep a tight lid on it. Or throw your wrappers away in the kitchen.

For a long time I had to watch the cats too: One is an extremely rambunctious rascal that gets into everything.

Stop eating chips in your room you'll be as big as a house in no time.

My kids were never allowed to eat in their rooms. Your mother must keep a filthy home.
