I was the all-out perfectionist of all time. I was out to please my parents, my husband, my relatives, my friends, in my home, and in my own work and business, and that worked very well for many many years, like a fine tuned watch. But as the years passed, I can honestly tell you that "perfection" isn't what it's cracked up to be. Then the computer came in, and I was so glad, because there is nothing, in any way, shape or form, on the internet that is "perfection".

"Success" is what each individual deems it to be. And a person can be happy in success if they hardly did anything at all, if they completed an English sentence that could be deemed as a success. So everyone in their own right has had success.

Now that I know what perfection and success are, I don't strive for either anymore.

I believe a person should make a "plan" for their life and strive toward that. But saying as a person that you've "tried your best" is just a copout.

Don't strive for perfection; only strive to do your best, then you will never feel embarrassed about whatever you've done and have no reason for apology.

Always do your best, even when you know that your best is not at the same level as someone else's best. As Shakespeare said, "To thine own self be true..."

We are our own worst critics.

I strive for happiness, and being able to take care of my family.

if along the way I perfect a thing or two, and have success then thats great too.

My first priority is my family.

Who doesn't? I do. Everyone have been trying to be perfect and successful but no one in the world is. They are perfect and successful in many different ways.
