Oh, you must mean the democratic senate and congress, they poll lower than Bush.
Why don't people who support civil rights by denouncing and silencing Jackson and Sharpton and other race baiters, who pervert Dr King's message?
It's called corruption, that's why.
Those who will denounce Bush, will support their perferred version of corruption- liberalism is so corrupt, socialists and communists hijacked it and steer it, every day.
Bush has tons of faults too but liberalism is the most corrupt ideology in existence.

There are many people that do stand up and in mass numbers. The problem is that the media does not report on it and the people who do stand up are arrested for some dumb reason or another. (unless it is some illegal demanding rights that they don't deserve)
We are systematically being stripped of every right we have to speak freely in this country. We get arrested at protest rallies. Not to mention that to even have a protest you have to gat a license to demonstrate these days.
All the voting that we do is computed by electronics which means it can easilly be manipulated. (google "a house without doors" it is an article written on voting fraud) And not to sound like I have a foil hat on or anything but we are spoon fed by the main stream media what the high ups want us to see. We are living in a police state that is just getting worse and most people are so busy just "living" and worrying about their own self interests that they do not see the nation as a whole and what it is becoming.

The reason we us a people do not stand up against our Government has various possible causes: the majority of the people are not against the government and think all is well, most of the people are too lethargic to write their representatives, people hope the neighbor will do something, Congress/Senate is corrupted to their interests only, the executive run along party lines instead of listening to the people............ make additions as you wish then pick your choice.
Outside of asking questions, what, by the way are you doing if you think government is inept??

We don't want to give up our slice of the pork.
Those in Congress have done a good job giving out the pork and we are now addicated to it.
Listen to Byrd sometime and wondering what does West VA see in him. Simple go there and they have more interstate than any other state for it's size.
Look at the Big Dig and than look who represents MA.
This list will go on and on.
Not just Democrats but the Republicans are just as guilty.
We have term limits for president we need term limits for Congress.
They get to vote on their own raises or not all they have to do is put it up and if they don't vote on it. It passes!
How insane is that?
So we have to flush Congress it will require ALL of us to get rid of those in office now.

Certainly the Bush Junta hasn't got much good press, mainly because of the incompetence and snotty atitude of this bunch of losers. It would be nice if we could fire the lot of them, but we can't. Here in Arizona we have what they call 'at will' employment. That means you can get fired at any time for anything or nothing with no recourse. I've always thought that was a total rip-off of workers rights, but I'd be willing to apply it to Bush and that cabal of cold-war nitwits that pull his strings. Basically 'we the people' are screwed until the next election cycle, but even then there is the possiblity that the near-nazis of the GOP will pull off another coup 'd etat. Let's be real...the GOP has the most advanced propaganda machine that's ever existed in the history of man. Joe Goebbels would be proud. From now until election the right wing radio jerks and FOX 'news' will be carpet bombing anyone that isn't 100% behind the Republican party's fascisti BS and believe me....propaganda, disinformation and misdirection works...that's why they do it. Example: All the right wing radio jerks now refer to Sen. Clinton as Hillary 'Rotten' Clinton and totally trash her entire life. There's no real discussion or reasonable deconstruction of her ideas, but worse, nobody in the GOP calls them on this. Of course they do this to anyone not on the 'approved' list so what else is new? The short answer to your question is that it takes a lot of pressure on our representatives in congess to take up the issue of impeachment and those congress critters that are willing to that are too few to pull it off. Of course there's still the possiblity that a just God will find a way to gather these bums to his bosum, but the Republicans seem to have 'God on their side' so don't count on it.

We can only wait until the next election. I don't think that we should stoop so low as to indulge in the type of public anarchy that the left wing supporters and their hooligans aroused whenever the opposition lost Parliamentary debates as happened during Mrs Thatcher's years as Prime Minister.

If they do as you suggest a civil war and/or revaluation will be the result. The losers in a civil war are everyone who gets caught up in it except for those who gain power. The only way to avoid that is to persuade your representative to vote your way bearing in mind that you may be in a minority. Also he may be in the position of a Turkey voting for Christmas

apathy and loss of courage in both the USA and our UK, thats why they let these people walk on them. ( yes Americans as well).
the sci-fi writer Frank Herbert wrote in the opening dialog to the movie and book DUNE . he spoke of humans falling into a state of apathy after their lives had been taken over and everything done for them to include their minds.
when it was realised what had and was happening to them they rose up in rebellion and put down what was destroying them..
one day this will be true of us as we stand up take the chance have courage . show the world we have balls, not all of us are emasculated as yet. and do away with what we call a government and then institute a new system untill it goes bad and we do it again

I have nothing to add except that there is too much diversity in MY country the USA. Those who don't see the problem are part of it, or they are part of the middle/moderates who sit by and leach off the victor and take away votes from the side who has the most potential of correcting things.

The UK government was democratically elected and is there for the duration; we can each use our vote at the next general election. This is all any democratic country can do, unless we want the turmoil and bloodshed as seen in some countries recently. (I was a Poll Tax marcher though!! But we were protesting against one specific injustice).
