its a mark5 golf, it not got colour coded side trims, they are the same material as the bumber: one side of it is peeling off: what is the best glue to use? i want it air tight so it doesnt get loose again

this is not my car, but you can see what i mean, its that black strip along the side of the door under the door-handle.

First you have remove old stuff clean of with Finger nail polish rmover make sure dry afterward! go to checher auto or autozone they have a variety of glues or epoxys to use... ask which is best for you tend reglue use blue painters tape to hold in place! don't drive for an hour to let dry! remove paints tape, then drive around a couple days and see if its holding???

take it right of be careful not to stretch the plastic a sharp blade along the double sided tape will work.pop into a local garage and ask for some panel wipe or tar and glue remover and remove all the excess glue from the car panel and the trim.buy a roll of double sided trim tape you can buy it from any motor factors ,stick it onto the trim remmove the backing stick to the car.P.S please don't use super glue you will damage the paint and the way i have advised you is the way i have been doing it for twenty years it always works

You could use Araldite.
Its a 2 pac glue, it can be quite tricky to use, but it is the strongest out there..
Its available from most hardware stores.

We use no more nails to replace rubber trims,works good, easy to get and apply.Just make sure its as clean as you can first.Hold the trim in place with masking tape till the no more nails dries.

double sided sticky tape or super glue in both cases make sure both surfaces are clean and dry

use 2 sided tape that you can buy at autozone, it's the stuff the factory uses to hold it on.
