I have become really interested the lifestyle and history of the Indians in America around the 17th century. Does anyone know of any good books on this subject??

"Seven Arrows" is about the Arapaho and is a very beautiful book. "Hanta Yo" is about the Sioux and is very good. The movie "Squanto" is a true story and quite interesting.

Many paperbacks on Apaches were available in the 70's. These were about how the palefaces overcame the resistance posed by Red Indians. One such book was Wells Fargo. I forget the author

Contact the Smithsonian Institute in Chacago. They have the most fantastic displays of First Nation life. (Native Indian culture) or the Museum of Anthropology Vancouver BC Canada. I am sure they will help you.

there are many books which are interesting. you might try any written by Black Elk. Will warn you there are many books which have erroneous information and as such are NOT appreciated by many of THE PEOPLE.
