Right now I am reading Trojan Odyssey by Clive Cussler. I so love Dirk Pitt novels! Whatever he does is adventurous and entertaining.
I just finished reading Blow Fly by Patricia Cornwell. You really can't beat Cornwell for a twisted plot!

Currently reading Baby Proof by Emily Giffin...about this 30 year old single woman who doesn't want to have children who finally find a man who also doesn't want them...they get married...and then a few years later he decides that he wants kids and she still doesn't and they get a divorce (that's all I've read so far).

Before that it was Avalon by Anya Seton....its about Merwyn (a girl who thinks she is descended from King Arthur but really is the illegitimate child of a viking and her peasant mother) and Rumon (a prince) who takes her from her village when her mother dies to England where she becomes a lady in waiting to the queen and he falls in love with the queen...the king dies and the queen is sent away and Rumon follows her and begins an affair with her..then the new king (the old kings son with the first queen...not the one Rumon was having an affair with) comes to visit and he is killed with the queens help...her son then becomes king and Rumon sees how evil she really was. Merwyn who was in love with Rumon had left the queen a little before that because she couldn't stand to watch Rumon be with her, she went to go live with her aunt a abbess. Then a couple years go by and she still doesn't want the religious life and her aunt dies so she is sent somewhere (I forget) to take her aunts heart back to her homeland and along the way she stops at the place where Rumon is and he realizes he loves her but Merwyn wants him to marry her and he thinks he can' t because he knows she isn't really descended from royalty. So she leaves to continue on her journey and then he decides he doesn't care about her lineage so he follows her and they both end up going back to the village she was born in. She gets there first and vikings raid the village (the same ones that came before), they kill her man servants and the man who fathered her is about to rape her when a local religious man who knows the truth lets him know that she is his daughter and so they capture her and take her back to Iceland. Rumon comes through and finds all this out from the religious man and is determined to follow her. He takes off on ship that ends up shipwrecked on some island where natives keep him and the crew hostage for three years till he and a few others can escape. Meanwhile Merwyn has accepted the truth about her lineage and has married and fell in love with a viking man and has a child with him. Then Rumon shows up thinking he will take her away but she wants to stay with her knew family. So dejected he leaves and goes back to England and becomes a monk. Merwyn and her family end up going to Greenland...then many years later after she had one more child a girl who was not quite right...her father and husband both die and she decide to go back to England. She takes her children (who are grown) the boy is restless and goes back to the viking life...but the girl goes and stays with Merwyn at the abbey where her aunt had been in charge for awhile until she marries again (she marries a rich widow...she is claiming to be who she thought she was for a long time ...the descendant of Arthur) she becomes friends with the new queen...anyway she eventually goes to see Rumon when he is dying and he convinces her to tell the truth. That's basically it...then the king who is spineless lets vikings take over England or something like that. Probably not the best description but an okay book.
