My husband and i have just started trying to concieve our first child and we are going to start taking Vitamin and mineral supplements to hopefully enhance our chances..
I am unsure whether we should be taking specific pre-conception tablets or if just a regular multi-vitamin (like centrum) would do the same thing?

Anyone out there with some advice on this?
and if you have any other tips on ttc, they would be greatly appreciated. :)

The best person to talk to about this would be an OB/GYN. Good luck. Hope you conceive soon.

You should take folic acid before trying to conceive and for at least the first three months of pregnancy to reduce the risk of spinal defects. The easiest way is to take vitamins for pregnancy and breastfeeding. The vitamins don't actually help you to conceive they are designed to keep you and the developing baby healthy. It's best not to take regular multivitamins as they contain Vitamin A and too much of this can cause birth defects.

Vitamins and minerals aren't known to enhance your ability to conceive. What they are to help ensure that you have the vitamins and mineral to sustain and have a healthy pregnancy.
I took procare prenatals after I found I was PG. But once the pharmacy quit selling them the doc prescribed another that made me sick as a dog. So I used the walmart brand. Regardless of the prenatal you choose it should be high in folic acid.

I took a pre-natal vitamin for a couple months before we started trying. It took 7 months to conceive but I knew that I needed to give my baby the folic acid and other things it needed before I would know that I was pregnant.

For you, you need prenatal vitamins. Any store brand would do fine, it has more folic acid in it than regular vitamins. As for your husband, any multivitamin would do fine.
