I am 24 weeks pregnant and i need some contraception advice for after she is born. I used to be on the pill but that made me anemic and i would probably forget to take it. I cant use condoms as i'm allerigic to latex. I dont like injections either. So what sort of contraception would be the most easiest and safest for me to use???? any advice!! thanxs

Having had a baby 7 months ago I have been part of a pregnancy forum and this came up quite a bit. I have heard that getting an IUD has been great for a lot of the ladies. Fairly easy to get put in by your doctor and most medical insurances cover it.When you are looking to conceive again then you simply go and get it taken out and not long after you are right to go again. There is a little spotting after insertion and a little cramping as well but then everything settles. This baby was my 3rd and final child and I chose to have a bi lateral tubal ligation so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Good luck for the next 16 weeks and for the birth of your child :)

everyone is different. meaning that some contraceptions might work for some but not for others. the most safest form is a condom.
It’s based on the recent survey carried out by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) on contraception among women aged 16 to 49.

* The Pill including the mini-Pill - 24 per cent.

* Male condom - 21 per cent.

* The coil (intra-uterine device) - 5 per cent

* Withdrawal method - 4 per cent.

* Contraceptive injection - 3 per cent.

* Contraceptive implants - 1 per cent.

* The cap or diaphragm - 1 per cent.

* Natural family planning (the rhythm method) - 1 per cent.

* Mirena (intra-uterine system) - 1 per cent.

* Female condom - less than 1 per cent.

* Contraceptive patch (Evra) - less than 1 per cent.

make an appointment with your midwife and she will help you with any question that you want answering.

have a coil fitted, its excellent, no hassle, quick and easy, once its in you forget its even there. I've had two now and find that its great, not like the pill where you've to remember to take the bloody thing, you get no weight gain, period acne, i love it, if you don't get along with it you can have it removed as quickly as it was put in.

take this advice and don't look back

I am sorry to tell you this but the best form of contaception is the pill....once you get into the routine of taking it you usually don't forget, if you do then set an alarm on your phone to remember!

Theres what they did in the old days when there was a war on and you couldnt get johnnys everywhere. And my gran told me this, 100% safe, both still have pleasurable sex without having ******* kids. Yes, every holes a goal, up the bum, no harm done, touch ya toes, in she goes. Nuff said!!
