i have NEVER had a period and i am 33 yrs old. I tried birth control for 1 1/2 yrs and the dr took me off to see if mi body would have one and it did not work. the dr then ordered tests for hormone and bone and other misc blood work testing levels or harmones. the explanation was i was going thru menopause. But i never had a period and refused the harmone replacement suggested by the dr beacuse i wans children. I dont have any healthcare so i rely on the free services provided by the community. I want a child. Please any suggestions?

Tough one,this isn't anything you'll solve without a doctor,preferably a fertility special list.

Hey, so much to cover in this question, but can totally understand your confusion. I am in UK so not clued up on healthcare and community services...but will try on what I know about..

To explore your options you need to get referred to an Endocrinologist or Reproductive Endocrinologist. If you have never had a period it is known as Primary Amenorrhea and
you could have an ovarian disorder and isn't simply 'menopause' as yr Dr told you- did he/she mention an ovarian disorder?! Also, going on Hormone Replacement will not hinder your chances of having a child as it is providing your body with the hormones you lack (estrogen & progestrogen) tht wld be produced by ovaries to cause a period...Hormone Replacement will cause a withdrawl bleed/period that the oestrogen wld have created on the lining of the womb and will help keep it healthy. Only the Birth Control Pill will affect chances for obvious reasons and HRT is supposed to provide your body with an adequate amount of hormones you may be lacking.

You really need to get some more info from a DR who knows what they are doing so an Endocrinologist/ Gynaecologist to explore fertility options for you...but hang in there!

Hope this has helped u a little.. (**,)

You really need a much more extensive medical evaluation, 33 and no period, most girls start on average between 10 and 13 yrs of age. There is no real way to advise you on this with such limited information, other than to suggest that you somehow find the resources for a through gynecological work up.

Ask about a consultation with an endocrinologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and conditions involving hormones) to get their opinion. They have tests for other kinds of hormones that a lot of regular doctors may not do that can give an indication to what is causing your problem. Because of your situation with healthcare check to see if there's a Medical School close by that may be able to help give more information as to what is going on.

No period? Did they save if you have ever ovulated. The drs. can see by way of pelvic exam if your ovaries show signs of ovulation. I am shocked that you waited this long to get help. I would find a way to see an endocrinologist if you seriously want children. Best of luck to you!

Your just like my mum, she is 37 and she has only had 5 periods since! The doctors are baffled by this but it isn't anything serious! x
