I've been playing classical piano for over 7 years now, and have gotten pretty good. A friend of mine, who is a guitarist, told me I should learn to play rock songs with keyboard ( from progressive bands, psychedelic). Can you please recommend some rock songs, or bands that use the keyboard alot ?

Depending on how well you think you can play keyboards I'd say most anything by the Doors, because they were pretty organ driven. Now if you think you are a bad *** well try some Emerson Lake and Palmer. Pink Floyd also has plenty of nice keyboard stuff ranging from impossible to relatively easy, so I don't know, take a listen around? I'll give you some examples:

The Doors - Light My Fire, My Eyes Have Seen You
ELP - Karn Evil 9, Trilogy
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here, Sheep, Great Gig in the Sky

If we're talking prog rock keys, most anything Rick Wakeman played on cannot be ignored. Esp. his stuff w/ Yes.

I'd try:

On The Silent Wings of Freedom
Close to the Edge
Roundabout
cans & Brahms
Awaken (LOVE this one!)

Then try some Genesis:

Stagnation
Firth of Fifth
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

Deep Purple used organs a lot in there music also Inagadadavida(spelling?) by Iron Butterfly is an organ psychedelic classic. Bostons song Foreplay/Longtime has a great organ opening.
