If you're building more than one model a month, I would say it is WELL WORTH buying an airbrush. You'll be happily impressed with the improved appearance of your models.

I've tried numerous brands: Paasche, Testors, Badger... and have fallen in love with Paasche: http://www.paascheairbrush.com/cgi-bin/store/search.cgi?category=Double+Action+Airbrushes

I also REALLY recommend a double-action over a single-action airbrush.

I have 4 Paasche airbrushes, two of which I've been using for 20 years now and a 1/4 HP compressor. A compressor will cost you about £60-£100, but you'll pay for that in the savings of NOT having to buy canned compressed air.

Read the instructions THOROUGHLY, and use an old model for practice.

GOOD LUCK and Enjoy the Hobby.
