Would Tiger Lily, Tink, or Wendy win his heart?

Christopher Robin has only one female that represents his characteristics in Winnie The Pooh. And that is Kanga (The personification of his mother?) Rabbit is obsessive compulsive, Tigger is Manic...etc...Can he ever love someone other than his mother?

Candii, So, are you saying that maybe Wendy is his mother in his mind, afterall Peter Pan found her through an open window? And Christopher Robin always had the stuffed animals stacked against his window when his mother came in the room? I think this is getting creepy...

Rev...So could they be the same? And for your insight consider: Alice in Wonderland and Dorothy in Wizard of OZ...A male aspect to the stereotypical female prevelance of teen turmoil? And in a way that, it could be seen as a question of self masculinity in deference to the mother?

By the way...I Don't Like Freud. What would Alice and Dorothy think of their Mother?

CptPeggy, So Chris is the mother to his manifestations as Peter is running from his? And that makes him more mature? To hide within his 'mother' inside and made him who he is rather than throw that away selfishly, yet still seek a 'mother' for the brothers...lost boys, just so he can live a selfish life?...Interesting.

I think Candii has a point...this can become very 'Psycho'.

Yahoo Man...But just who are the pirates? Are they just those parts of him that question? And...he doesn't have quite the ability to confront himself as Peter does in his mind.

Tink Baby...I wish Tiger Lily and Wendy were more like you! How could Chris resist your cuteness...Candii does have it right...How could he resist Tink's magic? But, will you let the stuffed animals be your cage? Or do you bring the man out in the child?

Malco...And I thought people couldn't follow my thoughts....Are you saying something crazy like, Chris is hooked on cigarettes brand Camels and that may be the result of only loving his mother so he carries that with him and takes Kanga to 'BFE'? Where does that leave Peter? The transfer of the mother can be making this even more creepy and somewhat incestuous in creepiness.

Psyengine...When Alice is 10' tall is she 'Mother's Little Helper?'....Is it possible that all children's stories are linked to 'The Stones' and 'Jefferson Airplane' too? This is getting stranger and stranger the more everyone shares.

Hi FBP....oh, it is fun that you have brought Christopher Robin back....and I have given the matter some thought....and my Diagnosis ?....I think Christopher would drown in a full blown episode of "Adjustment Disorder"....you see Christopher is stuck at a stage in which his interactions are with friends who are cuddly and have tactile softness....and who may be a bit "hung up" but are also quite predictable...and the lessons he learns are also just as soft and predictable as his friends.....Christopher is just an innocent little boy....Peter....on the other hand lives in a world filled with the fantasy of an older boy....there is always lingering and immenent danger lurking there...this creates much adventure and imaginary conquest for Peter...and in his bravado....Peter always has an inner knowledge that he will survive and succeed and conquer all the villians in his world....and that is because he is so clever and strong...and there is also a touch of defiance and rebellion there too....however....Peter often leans towards denial of his own needs....he can recognize them more fully as he attends to the needs of the "younger boys"...which is a bit paternalistic and reflective of budding maturity....but alas, again this is a conflict for a boy who "won't grow up"......Peter has already moved away from Mother (or was abandoned) and he greatly objectifies needs for mothering as comdities that can be recruited...and he is almost fully equiped to cope with his world.....In Christopher's world....Mother is seldom mentioned....and that is because she is actually a bubble around him....a soft, warm, cuddly essence that is ever present to provide the foundation for his safe, gentle existence....Wendy, Tiger Lily and Tink are just fragmentations of the Mother that Christopher enjoys....and they could never meet his needs......Peter's world would devastate him....as he has not yet achieved the strenth and competance required to cope there....it would be much like taking away a little boy's blanket.....a loss of security....and a dip into a world that is threatening and very frightening.......and all he could do would be to symbolically scream and cry......I am glad that you asked before you actually sent Christopher there...and yes....Christopher can love someone other than his mother....but later....much later....

this is an interesting scenario. Peter Pan went to the London window looking for a Mother for the Lost Boys (if memory serves). So he wasn't looking for someone to love in that way. That place in his heart was filled by Tink; and TigerLilly was just a flirt.
So if Christopher Robin were in NeverNever Land instead of Peter, it would probably be quite a similar situation. Chris would probably wind up falling for the charms and innocense of the Den Mother like a schoolboy with a crush on his teacher.

Well first of all, Christopher Robin is more mature than Peter Pan, eventhough they're both young boys so I think Christopher Robin would go for Wendy.

Why do I think that Wendy would suit him?

Well Christopher Robin is kinda like the mother/adult figure of mostly Pooh Bear, Piglet and Tigger.
Whereas Wendy is the mother/adult figure to her brothers.

I think no one would win. Tiger Lily is loyal and faithful, which is something he needs. Wendy is someone he could bring home to show mom, and Tink....well, she's just a little freak. You know he would never give her up.
Too bad they can't all be 1/3 of each...like me.

And Christopher Robin....didn't he end up running an old hotel and taking care of his mom who became a shut-in living upstairs, always looking out of the window while sitting in a rocking chair?

In answer to the stufted animals being a cage, I think If he were Loved unconditionally and and supported in all he did that would bring out the man in the boy because he would want to love her in the same way.
Real Love has no boundries so there wouldnt be a cage.

I think he loved all his buddies in one way or an other for who they are, but mother is mother and family always comes first. I am certain when he hits pooberty he would find Alice very comely. Go ask Alice when she's ten feet tall, she could see for miles and miles to some where, some when.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

Christopher Robin would fall in love with Wendy. She would not represent a mother figure to him. Only a beautiful young girl who would be his companion in adventures. Their love would be pure and innocent.

Christopher Robin would respect Wendy's wisdom and adore her for it. Wendy would love him for being genuine and oh so gentle and caring.

They would make a good match =)
