When is OK to lie?

never. there is never a reason to lie; and it's never an acceptable behaviour. If you do something wrong, just be honest and tell the truth. Yes, there will probably be consequences, but they will be worse if you lie.

We all make mistakes; but being honest is a part of being responsible, and grown up. Lying makes everything worse; And it hurts people. It breaks their trust in you, and in your word. And you're word is very important. Sometimes it's not easy to own up to a mistake, but it's far better to be honest and accept responsibility for your actions then it is to lie your way out of trouble.

I cannot honestly say, that being honest has done a whole lot for me, as it really hasn't. I'm honest and tell the truth (regardless of consequence) whereas other people lie, and yet i get into trouble yet they get away with stuff. *sighs* Sometimes i really think i ought to lie because everyone else does, but then i realise i don't want to be like them. Sometimes i really want to lie, because it seems to work for everyone else, but i don't. I'd much rather be honest, and be trustworthy. Consequences aren't fun but then again, there are going to be consequences for wrongful actions. That's just life. But I think, that there's never a reason to lie, and that it is never okay to do so. And, that even if you do something wrong but tell the truth about it, people will atleast have a little respect for you whereas if you do wrong and lie about it, there is no respect at all.

That's just my opinion. And no, i do not lie.
< i have lied before, who hasn't? example: i lied this year. It was when i told my DM i liked my job. (but then i felt bad about it, because the truth was i hated it.) LOL. But then i told him later that i lied when i said i liked the job and the truth was it sucked. LOL But I've never once lied myself out of trouble. (i did once when i was a kid and i missed out on something i really wanted to do! *frowns*) That to me should never be an option. Well, i hope that helps. Why who did you lie to? Lol > ♥

*edit* to the girl above with the weird avatar who said people lie once a day. Um, not everybody does. I think i lied twice this YEAR and both times it was basically about the same thing! "yeah this job is great! sure i like it!" As for sugarplum? *sighs* another sugarplum?!!! lol Fyi 'little white lies' are still Lies. there is no difference! and Nawwww the *Real Deal Sugarplum* doesn't lie. i know that for a fact. *winks*

I believe it is better to not lie at all, however I am not perfect and I do my best to only tell white lies when it is absolutely necessary. I make sure that the little white lies do not harm anyone because I believe if you use a lie to prevent hurting someone or to get yourself out of trouble is the worse lie you can tell and would never fall under the "white lie" category.

When you don`t wanna hurt someone you love, is OK to lie... If you know they won`t ever find out you did lie... Even if your intentions are good, they will get upset if they find out you did lie to them... But you can always explain;-P As also no one is perfect and consciously or not everyone lies at least once a day;-))

I'm a teacher and when I look at work coming from 4 year olds, I have to lie sometimes and say it's wonderful or I may have tears♥
