Every time a man or woman tells me the origin of good is not found in religion I have to laugh so hard. I promise it will be the end of me. Though I find nothing funny about religion or people's beliefs. I laugh at those who say evil does not exist. I laugh at those who say God is nothing more than imagination. I laugh at those who will cry when they realize they are no more and no less real than God. I laugh at those who make me laugh, because they say man is not evil by nature. I laugh because they say, man is good by nature. I laugh when you say, evil does not exist, but I know goodness does.

The world is a glass half empty and half full. Ignorance is no excuse for making me laugh so hard. When I move forward, I can take a step back, if I move left, I can step right and vise versa. It is illogical for you to say one does not exist without the other.

My favorite joke is, people said you can know too little, but you can never know too much. LoL. Sure. Water can never be 2 hot

You're the one who believes that life is not worth living without imaginary beings. You make me laugh, emo kid. That's my official nickname for you from now on, k?

Since laughter at ignorance comes so easily perhaps this will let you chortle at yourself:

You say that evil does exist, yet you simply qualify that believe with the fact that goodness does. That is an entirely ignorant and circular philosophy. Its like me saying that god must exist because the devil does. I cant prove ether of those statements so to say that is sheer stupidity.

Good & evil both are merely ideas. Nothing is intrincsicly evil or good. If we as a soceity or an individual choose to call somthing evil for example murder, it doesnt mean that it is evil, merely that soceity has deemed it unaccaptable. The same is true of so called "good ".

Normally i would be much nicer , but your arrogence is astounding. You need to go down a peg or four. You need to open your mind to the possiblities instead of hiding behind you faith and laughing at serious philisophical ideas, as if you laughing will make them any less valid.

Well if you laugh at evil people maybe your God would not be amused with your attitude. You seem to be finding everything you witness about people and their different ways such a huge joke. Geez you are so intelligent (or pretending to be??) I mean it really challenged me intellectually you saying the world is a glass half empty and half full WOW that is so enlightening I am in such a rapture. And I actually hadn't realized that if I move forward I can take a step back. Wow this stuff you spout forth is so profound (S.....t I just realized I go forward and step back when I am playing tennis - now you have surely led me to the light so as I now understand these miracles of life) Now I am not anti religious but I would really like to see signs of a bit of education to go with some peoples' religious zeal. Now I'm off to get a half empty glass of straight gin to settle my nerves after reading this twaddle. But mostly I would sincerely advise you to stop all that laughing at evil as someone on High might not be happy about that.

normally i wouldn't post on this kinda thing and honestly i don't want too.. seems pointless but ill be stupid enough too do so..

well I'm unsure what your religion is or what it stands for but.. you need both half's too have the whole exist.. so if you believe in something you have to believe it its opposite except your perception of what the other half is is nothing more then a mindset...

well i guess i should explain more sigh....

say you believe in god.. then you have too believe in the devil as well. its just all based on one side of the picture so i reckon you miss i lot of things about it.... personally i find Christians and Satanist one and the same the believe in the same thing just opposing sides if you wanna put it that way.. in the end there the same just ignoring each other exist and losing parts in the process..

BTW why would anyone care if the glass is half full or half empty least you have the glass.. or someone else holding onto it for you :p

well my 2 cents.. enjoy the rest of your days

OK, so can I say God must exist, although not in the form of a old wise man in the sky watching us. Do I have to buy intothe whole Jesus, sins, repentance, Adam n Eve, Noahs Ark and all?

No. That's truly ignorant.
The priests who preach all this should be shot. Each story in the bible has no more value than any philosophy or vedantic truth or buddhist proverb or zen parable. It must be taken in context.
NOT the context christianity "teaches".

The goal to aim for is in understanding the self and our relation to our embedded reality.

Why ask a question and expound on it in such a manner that you answer your own question?
You make no sense. Your ideas are rigid. It must be difficult to seek truth with such a closed mind.
Your humor is warped too. Maybe it is not humor but your belittling of others that is the cause of your laughter.

Not all atheists believe what you say atheists believe. Ayn Rand was big on exposing "evil" in the works of other philosophers, politicians, and the like.
And while I do not believe you are evil, I believe your attitude is. "You can never know too much" seems to be thrown at the atheists. But it was the Scholastics who proved, with such theories as "how many angels fit on the head of a pin," that some things are not worth proposing. Boethius told them to join faith to reason.
Rand taught me to DISjoin faith from reason, because they are polar contradictions. But I believe good and bad, good and evil, exist. And I believe in the one philosophical definition of good that fits for everyone: "good" is that which is good for "something." It does not need originate with religion.

I applaud you little miss, yes laugh at everybody's wretched existence, I think you understand the comedy and tragedy of this play...

and no, "evil" does not exist, it is a concept created by man, and "god" is an icon created by man...

please do refrain from calling me an "atheist" I do share some ideas with them, but I refuse to accept to be a part of these... anti-religion zealots... not all are, but it pains me that some do rave about their unbelief... and btw, enjoy your opium

Well, laughing never hurt anybody, except when you use it as a vehicle to show that you are a bigot.

So, go ahead and laugh, I believe you will be securing a place in the location you label as "Hell".

i think this is not something to laugh about. no matter what they are our brothers and sisters in humanity. so if they don't understand its our moral duty to explain to them. so lets start to take it a bit more seriously. how long would they ignore your logical answers if you give them any. so reason with them respectfully as they have the right to think and find answers. our job is to clarify misconceptions about God. i hope you understand dear.
