Yes, they are... because girls can be ignorant, materialistic and persuaded easily by shiny objects that cost a fortune.
I myself have despised diamonds for years as well as gold. I know where diamonds come from, how many lives have been lost over these petty shiny objects, and just what they can do to people.
I have no idea what the big deal is with diamonds anyway. I rather get flowers grown from his own garden. It's more sentimental. If any guy got me a diamond I'd drop them in a second because clearly by that stage in the relationship, they should know be much better than that!

To the diamond industry they are. To a select class of women too perhaps. But in reality? I think a woman values love, fidelity and trust -in action- far more than diamonds.
Also, to a woman who lives in the real world... practicality and functionality is cherished.
Diamonds are pretty, no lie.
But I don't believe for one second, that there are any diamonds, that are not blood diamonds!

well, my best friend is not diamonds. Although I've never been propositioned by diamonds to be my best friend. I would imagine that if a Diamond were to ask me to be it's best friend, I wouldn't turn it down, though.
