The modern idea of technology is the ever evolving betterment of the tools we have at our disposal so that we may enjoy continually better and more fullfilling lives from generation to generation.

But the greek roots of this word have to do more naturally with the revealed, it's what takes place as mankind discovers veritas (truth).

Heidegger proposed that there is an actual human process which leads towards (points man towards) unconcealing this truth (and also consequently, concealed technology).

He called this process enframing. It is the method employed by mankind to "rise to the challenge" involved in order to uncover a hidden truth.
