my gyno found my prolactin level up to 69. im having a cat scan done of the pituitary gland tuesday , im so scared , becuase i dont understand much , they said it might be a benine tumor on the pituitary that can be removed , but not to jump the gun yet, i have so many worries not just the tumor but fertility and they he said its not life threatening , but i dont know , if anyone knows any info that can help or a nurse inhere please write

High prolactin levels can mean a possible tumor of the pituitary gland but it can also indicate a hormone imbalance. If the CT Scan doesn't show anything abnormal there ask your doctor about a consultation with an endocrinologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders that relate to hormones such as the pituitary gland) to have them evaluate the situation further.
