I don't think we are. I never forgive..tho given that i'm a gawdess...yeah...but then...being the ignorance gawdess that i am...i feel these things are beyond me...like the only thing i can really do is shrug my shoulders and walk away. My forgiveness...does not really count. I believe when something wrong is done to me...it is done to the whole of humanity...
ya get my drift? like...if it wasn't me...it would've been done to someone else...
and so if it was done to someone else...do i have any right to forgive? I don't think so...

uhmmn...a wrong done to one is done to all...it's the intention of the doer that weighs...the object of the deed could be anyone...

uuhh...i dunno...do you understand? i'm sorry english is my second language...i hope i get my thoughts through anyway.. =[

@Ethology
"forgive us our trespasses AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US. So it would seem that (biblical ) we will be forgiven to the same degree that we forgive others."

It's a prayer...a wish...a request...
for GOD to consider....why? because...
well...uuhh...consider this...why do we make requests and considerations?...because it's beyond ..uhmm..uuhh..Company Policies...uuhh...right??? yeah...i think i'm right....O.o...and what did GOD have to say?...did HE answer?...i don't think so...?? O.o

Sure, Why Not? If I Have Authority To Forgive, Does That Still Exempt Me When Copper Comes To Arrest My ***. Will, I Told Her I'm Sorry Be Good Enough? We Live Under A Civic Law, A Judicial Law, As Well As A Moral And Biblical Law. One Gets You Immunity In Heaven, Still, If I Steal From Father Edmonds House, I'm Sure Jesus Lover Is Calling The Cops On Me, Giggling!

If you approach this from a biblical perspective the answer is yes in a way. Like it has already been said, " there are some sins that only God can forgive ". But if you think about The Lord's Prayer, in one verse it says, " forgive us our trespasses AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US. So it would seem that (biblical ) we will be forgiven to the same degree that we forgive others.

Yes. We can forgive those people who committed something wrong against us. And actually, that is the law of god. But of course, there are some kind of sins which only God has the power to forgive.

YES

If not us, Who?

If not now, When?

If not, Why?

Just because it is not easy to forgive does not make it unattainable or undesirable. You do not need others permission or direction to forgive. If you ever wish to be the recipient of forgiveness you may wish to show some yourself.

The kicker is that just because you forgive the recipient does not have to accept it. But, your actions will have the same effect on you either way. Forgiving is self serving,

We have certain levels of authority, and "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us" is a general authority given to people of the Way, who effectually pray that prayer.

"I Am forgiveness acting here
Casting out all doubt and fear
Setting men forever free
With wings of cosmic victory.

I Am calling in full power
For forgiveness every hour
To all life in every place
I flood forth forgiving grace."

This is part of a powerful mantram; this part invokes Forgiveness.

kind regards,

j.

It's fallacious reasoning to say that the pain inflicted upon us by the offender is also committed against humanity that had nothing to do with it, when it was only his words or deeds against ours to begin with.

Forgiveness releases us, cleanses us, of the hatred, anger and vindictiveness that sit heavily in our heart and mind. We're not in authority to forgive but doing so is a supreme act.

(You've dished out poems now and then in impeccable English. How can you say it's your second language? Can you tell us, please, your native language and whether you're in America or what country?)

yes we are ...we all have our own minds to decide to forgive or not to forgive . not forgiving is a self destructed thing we can do to ourselves , to me its like hating someone who did you wrong . but your really hurting yourself for having the revenge that you carry inside ..

i dunno what you mean but the way i take it is no.. cuz we ALL make mistakes & NONE of us deserve forgiveness so none of us really have the right hold that forgiveness from someone else who is also human & also makes mistakes. even though we think we are, were really not. only God is cuz God is perfect. none of us are, so were not really even worthy of being forgived.

Of course.
We are all gods and goddesses that are born with the authority to do as we please.
And forgiveness is the most sublime characteristic of our godhoodness.

i know that if i forgive offences against myself, it makes me feel better. i see what you mean, though, re. offences against us being offences against everyone. see if you can forgive the personal offence against you, and leave it up to whoever to judge......
