I bought these really cute pair of pink high heels. My mom told me that I should wear them around to get use to them, so i did. The next day, she told me to wear them again. My mom has been forcing me to wear my heels for 3 days, she says "you need to break them in" but my feet hurt so bad, she's even gone to the point where if i try to take them off, she puts little diary locks on the buckles to keep me from unbuckling them. Your opinion??

she is going a bit overboard. it seems like she is upset about you buying the heels and wants to teach you a lesson. just doesnt seem like it to me that she really wants to break you into your new heels. either way, you have to tell her how you feel and that your feet are killing you, so that she will stop forcing you to "break them in"

As the mother of three teenage daughters I would have them wear new shoes, heels or otherwise to break them in for a few days before wearing them to whatever engagement they were meant for. But Hun, I have to say I believe that your mother may have taken this a bit too far with the locks. I don't know what she is trying to prove but that is bordering on abuse when your feet are in that much pain and she is quite literally locking you into your footwear. Have you tried to explain to her that your feet are in sever pain? You might also let her know that where heels for too many days in a row can cause damage to your arches, ankles and your knees. I know I wore them for many years and I now suffer from arthritis and firbromyalga in both feet and legs. I hope that she will come to her senses soon and you can get a chance to soak your feet in some warm water before too much longer.... good luck Hun. HeavenStorm

I don't think she is fair. Sure it is a good idea to wear them at home first, but 3 days??? Diary locks??? That is extreme. She may be doing this so you are in so much pain that you never buy high heels again.

I think your mom was going a little above and beyond, I get wanting you to break in your shoes but locks aren't necessary. So now you know the next time you buy shoes don't tell your mother :D!

I'm sorry but your mum sounds crazy.

It sounds like she is trying to punish you for buying those heels. Have you told her that your feet hurt so much to even slip them back on?

I seriously think this is punishment.

Get her to wear them for a week.

Is this a serious question? If you're just "wearing them around" then all of a sudden strapped in them for good there's something wrong. Maybe your mom has a good sense of humor and wants you to learn about sacrificing comfort for fashion?

It wont be good for your feet to have them on for that long. Especially how your feet aren't used to them. Pain is your body's way of telling you that something is wrong. And how she put locks on sounds a little abusive.
