I live in Parker, and from here I like to go to:
- Estes Park, especially driving thru Big Thompson Canyon,
- Georgetown, right now it's all decorated for Xmas and beautiful,
- Glenwood Springs Hot Springs/Pool/Hotel is awesome, and they have great packages for ski and swim right now, and there are cool caverns to explore as well
- Going south, it's not too far to go to Taos, which is a place you can't miss
- Durango might be a bit far, but the town is great and friendly
- If you're into gambling, go to Cripple Creek (much better than Black Hawk or Central City)
- If you're into skiing, we like to go to Solvista or Winter Park, as both places are cheaper than the 'resort mountains' and full of fun, interesting people
- Honestly, there's not much if you head east, except farms, cows and Kansas :)
- I wouldn't recommend Cheyenne, unless you like cowboy stuff, then go for it
- Lastly, Mount Rushmore is only 6 hours and Yellowstone only 10, so when you have a bit more time, these trips are worth the drive.
Have fun!

Blues-Traveler will be here tomorrow @ the bottom of the gondola.... some are even free concerts/ if you can. do a little ASPEN shopping you deserve it. the gourmet restaurants are good too Ruth Chris, campo, little Nell, Little Annie's, toppers, so many more .
or go to Keystone. less expensive. the slopes are good the food is good too. also in Dillon go to the Damn brewery or the ore house in Frisco. your options are big choose wisely have fun maybe I'll see ya 'round. 'Chris S.

I live in Grand Junction, but right now with it being snow season you may not be able to get where you want to go if the roads are closed. I heard tonight the the Eisenhower tunnel on I 70 is closed due to severe weather conditions. If you want to come my direction, you may find more to do in Utah with better road conditions than trying to go to Denver. Moab has great scenic areas to explore. Also, you could drive up on the Grand Mesa that's just East of Grand Junction. You would travel as if you were going to Powderhorn ski resort, but keep going past Powderhorn and stay at The Lodge. Call to make sure they are open. Just a thought. It's not like we live in Los Angeles.

Golden is all decked out for Christmas, and will have the "Olde Golden Christmas on Parade" on December 22nd. Also, the Denver Zoo just started having its holiday lights as of the 6th. You can go to the Botanical Gardens in Denver as well for lights.
If you're not looking for holiday festivities, you could look at going to one of the ski towns. I have gone to Crested Butte in the past, which tends to have good deals since its further away than Breckenridge and the like.

Are you kidding me? Dude... You live in Colorado. Go friggen Snow Skiing somewhere. Downhill skiing is one of the best damn things in the world. Spend a few hours hitting the hills and then head inside the hotel to jump in the hot tub. God... If I could only ever be so lucky to be transferred to Colorado. I'd be in heaven come winter time.
