Absolutely. They would, however, need to be encased in an acid-resistant suit, and carry breathing apparatus, as the air surrounding digesting food may not be very breathable. Once they get passed the stomach, their apparatus would need to be resistant to various enzymes and alkaline substances.
I would suggest taking about two to three days air supply for the entire journey (less if suffering from gastroenteritis).

No. The cumulative effect of exposure to very strong acid and digestive enzymes (in the stomach), and the lack of oxygen coupled with exposure to what would be large amounts of toxic chemicals (like methane) compared to the person's body size would prove fatal for any Tom Thumb stupid enough let someone swallow him.
