He's got a simple message, and he explains it patiently and without negativity.

His vision is an appealing one. Lower taxes, no war, everybody happy, happy, happy.

A lot of people really, really, want to believe that could be true.

They aren't loyal, they've been Republican through some of the parties most embarrassing years. They want to still be Republican, however, and thus support a candidate that as seen as the most non-Bush Republican candidate. As for their vocality, it is to stress their non-Bush views, to show that though they are Republicans, they DO NOT like the war, and are thus smart. Also, they're only vocal online, because its easy to tag "Vote Ron Paul" at the end of every single youtube comment they make no matter how obviously the videos content is less sophisticated then your average pornography.

In Los Angeles, orange seems to be the new pink, and I'm told that 40 is the new 30. In the rest of the country, it seems Ron Paul is the new Ross Perot.

EDIT: To the answerer above me, how can you say Ron Paul is the "fresh breeze of truth," when he can't even be truthful about his own damn political party? He's a Liberatarian running on the Republican ticket. If he'll lie about what he is politically just to have a better chance at being elected, what else will he lie about? The breeze of truth. The truth is, if he's just simply run as a Liberatarian, which is what he is, I might be able to grow an ounce of respect for him.

to jade who said that he is a democrat running as a republican. there is not much else more wrong that that statement. he is a libertarian running as a republican. if he is elected our economy will skyrocket and other countries wont be so pissed at us because of our foreign policy. democrats are BIG government. Ron Paul is puny government. Good for him, i hope he gets elected hes got the right idea! and answering the question about loyalty. its because people who know his policy knows that it works. its the basic free market/small government ideas that reagan used here and thatcher used in the uk. in both those times our economy went through a little rough time to fix all the stuff crapped up by big government, and then soared. same with the UK. in particular coal. the government subsidized coal like crazy and thatcher privatized it and things went way better.

They're all loyal to him because he hypnotized all 8 of them.

He'll cut 'n run and leave Iraq in the same shape we left South Viet Nam in back in the 70's. We all know how that turned out!

Besides, he's a Texican!!! After LBJ, Bush 41 and now GWB don't you think we've had enough of "Texas style" politics???

In an air of stinky usurpation politicians, Paul is like a fresh breeze of truth, freedom and rights-preservation. He harkens back to an era when men understood what the Declaration of Independence meant and wanted to preserve that for their posterity.

Today we are saddled with excessive taxation....legal tender and not lawful money....perpetual wars on pronouns....nationalism disguised clevely as patriotism....a federal government grown far beyond its 12 square mile border....and ALL the other candidates see NOTHING WRONG in all of this.

I know and I have been wondering that myself. There is nothing great about him. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He is a Democrat running as a Republican. I think that is why they want him so bad. They are hoping we can't see through the facade and then they win either way the election goes. I always watch elections on the edge of my chair. Then I decide if I even want to get up the next day.

Kucinich's followers are similar...theyre idealogically pure, they are h-core,they have nothing to lose, they hate the establishment. I think RP is a gr8 guy...Im not a libertarian, but at least he's not a hypocrite or a religious freak...Like the rest of the GOP

Because he is the ONLY candidate that knows what this country needs and has the guts to do it! Why would we NOT be loyal to him? What other options do we have?
