a - the fact that most insurance plans now cover treatment for dissociative identity disorder.

b - the greater prevalence of drug use among grade-school children, which may produce dissociative identity disorder in adulthood.

c -greater clinical awareness of the disorder and of its symptoms and increased screening for dissociative symptoms.

d -greater coverage of sensational dissociative identity disorder patients in movies and television shows, making it easier for disturbed people to mimic the symptoms.
