Well many many adapters use the Realtek chipset. Those that do can use standard "realtek" drviers regardless of who made the card. (In fact many work much better that way.) There are some major updates for the Realtek chipsets and I suspect you just received one.
Your machine should still work correctly (in fact may be better) and still allow you to network properly. If not roll back the update, get a new update from the "card" manufacturer and install it, then re-run the MS updates.

If all is working, I wouldn't even blink twice about the update.

i don't care what people who declare the understand each and every thing approximately desktops say. i'm a guy or woman who return 3 severe powered desktops because of the fact Vista replaced into considered one of those nightmare. this is the actual tale and genuine data, Microsoft is at the instant being sued by utilising anybody who offered a working laptop or computing device over a 365 days era because of the fact they claimed their application could desire to run on all desktops than ran XP as long because it had 512MB RAM. they have a serious issues, because of the fact there are not any assessments that teach that declare has any validity in besides. to boot, hardware on XP desktops is extensively weaker than hardware this is needed to run Vista. As such, there is no one on earth that has effectively upgraded from XP to Vista utilising the comparable computing device without thoroughly changing the hardware. I actually have a duplicate of Vista that replaced into given to me for unfastened. that replica is incredibly in my freezer. that's ideal! it incredibly is on ice till hell freezes over. in case you sucessfully improve to Vista, you will not have the hardware to stress the OS. Vista is already slow for each guy or woman, yet think of how a lot slower it would be in case you do not even have the hardware to run it. And what are you gaining. in case you like the way Vista seems, not project, there are a great type of skins you could upload to XP which will enable your XP to look and run precisely like Vista, yet quicker and extra advantageous. the only distinction is the the XP version won't have the means to run Direct 10X-so which you will in no way miss it. My advice is to stick with XP, and in case you like Vista, upload the Vista function this is actual got here upon on the internet and projects 5 minutes to alter. You computing device will run quicker than your buddies that have vista and extra suitable hardware, plus you will have not got any crashes or errors message that plague Vista. All those motive force themes are purely Vista themes and not XP. Why threat your at the instant applications not engaged on Vista while there is not any ought to enhance. Vista supplies customers no reason to enhance

It should not have, It just updates not changes anything. If you do think something did happen. Which i don't think that updates did it. Contact Microsoft. www.Microsoft.com. Tell them that i worked before you installed updates.
