Guys seriously, it's just a movie, actually it's a book, but it tells of a non existent reality in which a very extremist version of the Catholic church is evil. Any views or opinions?

I don't know why everyone makes such a big deal about such things. Like the book and movie The Da Vinci Code, it angers me when people claim it is "attacking" their beliefs. These movies do no such thing. They only present an alternate view. You could say that by the same argument, The Passion of the Christ is "attacking" Jewish beliefs, because they believe the Messiah has yet to come. I think that everyone needs to lighten up a bit.

good day, human beings boycotted Jesus of Montreal and the final Temptation of Christ, too. It would not would desire to be genuine to get human beings all worked up. P.S. The Golden Compass action picture would not say something in any respect approximately killing God. Kathryn: I only observed the action picture. there is no longer something in it that i'd desire to probable evaluate "grimy."

Because the author is an Atheist and he reportedly kills off God in a later book.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Office for Film and Broadcasting gave the film a rather warm review. It said, "The film is not blatantly anti-Catholic but a "generalized rejection of authoritarianism."

The review said Lyra and her allies' stand for free will in opposition to the coercive force of the "bad" Magisterium is "entirely in harmony with Catholic teaching."

Here is the entire review: http://www.catholicnews.com/data/movies/07mv242.htm

With love in Christ.

It was written by a man who many christians would consider an "anti-C.S. Lewis", an atheist who just wants a grand opportunity to down Christianity. A lot of us are worried that his ideas will infect the minds of young children.

The author is a self proclaimed atheist. So why did he write a book about kids who kill something he doesn't even believe exists?
